The Mag and Clara Balefire Mysteries Series by ReGina Welling and Erin Lynn

Genres: Paranormal, Humor, Amateur sleuth, Small town, Murder mystery, Witches

Blurb: Centuries old witch sisters, Margaret (Mag to her friends) and Clara were invited by the coven of witches to the small town of Harmony. They opened a shop called Balms and Bygones, to sell antiques and personal care products.

But their real reason for being in the town was because of Hagatha Crow, an ancient leader of the coven. The old witch was bad tempered and used her magic without restriction. On top of that, murders were being committed in the town.

Aided by their familiars and other paranormal beings in the town, the two sisters took it upon themselves to solve the murders while at the same time posing as normal humans.

My Review: 5 Stars

Mag and Clara pose as mother and daughter respectively, for the sake of the humans. Mag is old fashioned and preferred selling antiques. On the other hand, Clara is more modern and enjoys making personal care products. With a hint of magic of course.

Despite their differences and sarcasm, the sisters work together to make their business a success. Also, they have to keep an eye on Hagatha Crow who though without malice, causes fights with the humans. Her stunts are hilarious.

When murders occur, the sisters find that some townsfolk are not as innocent as they seem. However, that doesn’t stop them from digging up secrets and bringing the killers to justice.

It is a fun cozy mystery with humor on the side stressing the importance of family and togetherness.
